Poker roll your own
In poker games, especially in the stud poker variant of the game, certain set of rules may become applicable in gameplay and one such rule set is called roll your own. Normal stud poker games require players to be dealt their cards either as hole cards or face up cards, according to which variation is being played and this s followed by betting action. However, if a roll your own stud poker game, the normal gameplay is varied in three possible manners.
If the game is played according to simultaneous choose-after, each player who would usually be dealt an up card instead receives a hole card. All participating players can look at all of the hole cards and select one of them to be turned up followed by all players turning their selected cards simultaneously.
If the game is played according to in turn choose-after, the game begins with each player receiving one hole card. Now one player, chosen to act first according to the regulation of that particular game, turns over the up card he wishes followed by his neighbor who uses this information to make his own choice of which card to turn up and this situation is followed by the remaining players in turn.
If the game is played according to choose-before, it is invariable played in turn and in the round of dealing where up cards are to be dealt, every participant has the choice of receiving his card as an up card or as a hole card. If he wants to receive his card as an up card, he declares so. If he wants to be dealt a hole card, he must turn one of his hole cards face up, o that the total number of hole cads and up cards of each player remains constant. Interestingly, when this method is followed, dealing does not stat from the player seated left to the dealer. Rather the player with the highest hand that is showing gets the dealing round rolling.
